Let’s face it, there are times when you will not be able to train consistently, even if you have the motivation to do so.
During my fitness journey, sometimes I had to quit training for weeks, because of my long series of trips in Asia, while I was on study abroad in Hong Kong.
But does that mean you should stop training at all, while eating junk food all day ? Not necessarily !
Here a few tips for you, to avoid losing all your gains during your vacations :
Pay attention to restaurants !
When you travel, it is rarely possible to cook yourself. In addition, trying the local cuisine is part of the experience of growing on site, it would be a shame to miss it. However, how do you manage your calorie intake by consuming foreign food? One option is to check the restaurant menu on the net to see if there are any healthy enough options before you go there. In any case, try anything that is fried. You can also prepare snacks yourself if your accommodation has a kitchen with a fridge.
Enjoy the sports activities
Generally, on vacation, there is no shortage of sports activities you can do. Just rent a kayak, a bike, a surfboard and a workout. In addition, it was generally to be fun or to allow you to discover magnificent landscapes. You can also participate in group sports matches, such as beach volleyball, football, the basket. Generally, you can easily integrate a game with strangers and this will even allow you to get to know each other.
Chose your accommodation well !
When traveling, it is not always possible to have access to a training room or equipment. So why not bring some fitness accessories to your hotel room? You can also choose to rent a room in a hotel that has a gym or is located next to a park to go for a run and workout.
Try short sessions !
You don’t always need to have 1 or 2 hours long trainings to stay fit. Try 30 mins short sessions ! Even at home, these sessions can be a game changer !
